Your season in the app
Tell the coach who’s coming, know where and when every weekend, follow the match from anywhere, and see your child’s development record build across the season.
A pathway season runs on a weekly rhythm. You tell the coach who's coming, you find out when and where the weekend is, you follow the match, and your child's record builds up behind it. None of it takes more than a couple of taps, and the one habit that matters most is keeping availability current, because the coach plans every session and every team around it.
This page is that rhythm, with a deeper page behind each part.
- You're signed in and your children appear on Home. If not, start with Get your family set up.
- With two or more children, everything on Home is about the child whose name is in the top corner on a phone, or at the bottom of the sidebar on a computer. Tap the name to switch.
- Your child's own login sees a little more than yours in a couple of places. Those are pointed out below.
Home is in order of what needs you. At the top are the cards that ask for something, such as next season's offer or a season fee still owing. Under them are your child's season numbers: Matches, Match Time, G+A (goals and assists, just Goals where assists aren't tracked, or Clean Sheets for a goalkeeper) and Sessions. A survey invitation, when there is one, sits just below the numbers.
Below that is Up Next: the next five things in your child's week in one list, whether training, a match, a club event or a booked review meeting. A match row shows the opponent, the kick-off and the ground, with the time to arrive by. A pre-season hit-out or friendly the club has arranged carries a Trial tag: it's played like any match, but it doesn't count towards your child's season numbers. At the bottom, Recent Matches shows the latest results, and All matches takes you to the rest.
Before the first round, Home shows a card saying your child is all set for the season and what happens once it starts, instead of an empty list. After the last match it becomes a season recap with the year's numbers.
Every training session and match in Up Next and the Calendar shows your child's status. Tap it to change it:
- Pick
Going,Away,SickorInjured. - For an absence, choose how long:
This Session(orThis Match),This Week, orLongerwith a from and to date. - Add a short note for the coach. It's required for an absence, and a few words is enough ("school camp", "ankle, back next week").
- Tap
Report Absence, orConfirm Attendingif they're coming.
With more than one child, pick one child or All Players in the same step. Choosing Injured carries straight on into the injury report so the club physio hears about it properly; Report and track an injury walks that through.
Tip: Away for a whole school holiday? Use Longer with the dates. One update covers every session and match in between.
Now and then you'll see Training up next to a session, set by the coach. It means your child has been asked to train with another squad that day, so their own squad isn't expecting them. You can't change it yourself; if it isn't right, speak to the coach. Rehab is set by the coach too, and means your child is coming to training but doing their own rehab work with the physio or in the gym. It's training only, so it doesn't affect matches, and you can still report an absence over it. The availability answer covers every path.
The Calendar tab is the long view: every training session, match, club event and booked review, day by day. The Calendars menu narrows it to one child or All children, and to Training, Matches or Club events. Tap the date at the top to pick a day further ahead, and Next 30 days loads more.
Tap a training session for its time, venue and squad, with an Update availability button. Where the coach has set the status, the button reads View availability instead. Tap a match to open the match itself.
A match's own page has the opponent, kick-off, venue and directions, and the match reminder tells you what time to arrive. The Matches tab holds the season around it: fixtures, results, the ladder for league programmes, and games that are live now. The whole match day, start to finish, is on Follow a match day.
The Mixed JDL works differently. Each age group fields a Blue and a White team, so which team your child plays in, and when, isn't known until the coaches split the squad for the week. Until then, the weekend's row shows both kick-off times with a Team TBC tag, so don't lock in a departure time yet.
On Friday (at midday unless your club has chosen another time) a Team Selection notification tells you your child's team, the kick-off, the opponent and ground, and the time to arrive. The row on Home updates on its own, and the round page shows both teams with your child highlighted. Every other programme, Girls JDL included, fields one team per age group and uses the ordinary match reminder. Weeks when your child isn't named are covered in the weekend lineup answer.
When the coach tracks the match live, the score updates on your phone as it happens and full time arrives as a notification. If your club films matches with a live stream, you can watch in the app, and the Share button under the stream sends family who can't be there a link to the club's public live page, which needs no app and no login. Watching live matches covers live video.
Afterwards the result lands in the app. If the club films matches, you'll get a notification when the coach has tagged your child's clips. Watch highlights and clips shows where every kind of video lives.
The Health tab holds your child's physical record: S&C testing results, Work rate figures from filmed matches, and Injuries, including anything the club physio is managing and when your child is expected back. Some tabs, such as Wellness, Effort and Workouts, appear only on your child's own login. They're your child's honest answers about how their body feels, and they give better answers when nobody's watching. Daily check-ins and workouts explain your child's side.
Where your child's programme runs development plans, the Plan tab is the season-long conversation with the coach about their game. Your child's development plan walks through it, and booking a player review covers the sit-down meeting.
Tip: Encourage your child to log check-ins against their goals. Coaches reply to what shows up, and a two-line reply about something they did well goes a long way.
Fees arrive in the app and are paid there: a retention deposit, the season fee, event tickets. You pay the same advertised price whichever way you pay. A card works for every payment, as do Apple Pay and Google Pay on phones that have them, and PayTo or bank transfer appear when the club offers them for that payment. Receipts and history stay in the app. Pay fees and keep receipts covers instalments and autopay, and when next season's offer comes, accepting your place and signing your agreement work the same way.
A few things arrive on their own schedule, and each has its own page: club events and invitations when the club needs to know who's coming, the club survey once a season, raising a safeguarding concern if something isn't right, and AI assistants if you connect one to your account.
- Everything in the next fortnight shows your child's real status, so the coach isn't guessing.
- You knew Saturday's arrival time from the app, without asking in a group chat.
- You've followed one match live, and found the clips afterwards.
- Any fee owing is paid or on a plan, and you know where the receipt is.
