Quick answer

How do I see my child's weekend lineup (Mixed JDL)?

In the Mixed JDL, each age group fields two teams — a Blue and a White — so the players have to be divided between them each weekend. Once the coaches have set the teams, your family gets a notification and the lineup appears in the app.

This page is only about the Mixed JDL. Football NSW allows a Girls JDL age group just one team, so there is nothing to divide: the squad stays the same from week to week, there is no Friday Team Selection notification, and there is no round page. A Girls JDL family taps the match itself and gets the ordinary match reminder with an arrive-by time, exactly like a Youth League family. The same is true of Boys and Girls Youth League and the senior teams.

The Friday notification

On Friday at midday (the standard time — your club can set its own) you'll get a notification titled Team Selection telling you which team your child is in, when they kick off, and what time to arrive by. (These notifications are push-only — they're no longer sent by email or SMS.) If you're not getting them, see Why am I not receiving notifications?.

Tap the notification to open the round for the weekend.

Where to find the lineup

The lineup lives on the weekend's round page — the screen that lists the Blue Team and White Team kick-off times. You can open it any time from the Matches tab by tapping the weekend's match.

  • Before the teams are announced, the round shows a "Lineups not yet announced" note. You'll get a notification the moment they're confirmed.
  • Once they're announced, the players for each team appear inline, right under the Blue and White headings — a simple list of each player's photo and name. Your own child is highlighted with a Your child tag so they're easy to spot.
  • Once a match kicks off, the lineup is replaced by the live game — tap the team's row to open the live match and follow along.

Why Up Next sometimes shows two kick-off times

The Up Next list on your home screen shows the weekend's match before the teams are picked, and the Blue and White games usually kick off at different times — sometimes at different grounds.

Rather than guess, the row shows both times with a Team TBC tag next to the opponent, like 8:30 or 9:30am. That's your cue that the coaches haven't published the teams yet, so don't lock in a departure time.

Once the lineup is announced on Friday, the row resolves on its own: the Team TBC tag is replaced by your child's arrive by time, and the time and ground on the second line switch to their actual game. Nothing to tap or refresh.

If your child isn't named in either team that weekend, the row shows a Not selected tag instead and keeps the round's kick-off time so you can still come and watch.

Earlier versions showed a single confident time based on whichever team your child was in last weekend. If they'd swapped colours since, that time was wrong — and on a split round, so was the ground. Showing both times until the teams are published is the fix.

If your child isn't in this week's squad

Not every player is named every week — someone may be carrying an injury, or simply not selected for either game that weekend.

When that happens you'll still see both full team sheets, with a short note above them saying your child isn't in this week's squad and, where we have it recorded, that they're currently carrying an injury. You keep seeing the round so you know where and when the team is playing, whether or not your child is named.

The note is only about your own children — other families never see it. If you're not sure why your child was left out, or when they're expected back, have a chat with your coach.

The rest of the weekend details

The same round page also shows the date, each team's opponent and kick-off time, and the venue with a map and driving directions for away games. There's no formation, bench, or pitch view — just the essentials for getting to the game.

Marking your child unavailable

To set your child as unavailable, use the Going / Away / Sick / Injured options on the match or in your calendar — see How do I mark my child as available?.
