Club events and invitations
Presentation nights, parent information evenings and ticketed dinners all work the same way: an invitation, one clear reply the club can plan around, and tickets paid in the same step when there’s a price.
Alongside training and matches, the club runs events: presentation nights, parent information evenings, coaching workshops. For most of them the club needs to know who's coming, to book the room, order the food or print the awards. Your reply is what they plan around, and it takes about ten seconds.
This page follows Rob Salib replying to the club's Presentation Night for his sons Milan and Luca.
New to the club this season? There's nothing to set up. Club events come to you as invitations, and each one takes a single reply.
- Keep notifications on, so the invitation reaches you the moment the club sends it.
- Reply from the invitation, under Replying. You can change your mind later.
- Pay for tickets in the same step when an event has a price, under Events with tickets.
- Keep Clubhouse notifications on, so the invitation reaches you the moment the club sends it.
- Everything happens in the Calendar. Events sit there alongside training and matches.
- If you'd like club events in your phone's own calendar too, set up calendar sync once and every event arrives by itself.
When the club sends an invitation, you get a notification with the event's name as the title and the details underneath:
You're invited · Sat 10 Oct 2026 · 6:30pm · Harbourview Reserve Clubhouse
If the event doesn't need a reply, it says Added to your calendar instead. If the club later moves the date, time or venue, or cancels, you'll get another notification starting with what changed, such as Time changed or Cancelled.
The invitation also stays in front of you until you answer:
- On Home, a card lists every event waiting on your reply, each with a Reply button. If the club set a deadline, a Reply by Sat 3 Oct label sits under the event and turns amber as it gets close. With more than a few events waiting, the card ends with a link to the rest.
- In the Calendar, the event's row says Reply (or Tickets for a priced event) until you answer. After that it shows your answer: Going, Maybe or Can’t go.
Open the event and you'll see when and where it is, which of your children it's for, and the club's details. Underneath is the question: Are you coming?
- Choose Going or Can't go. Maybe is there too when the club allows it. Some events need a firm answer, and then the app tells you so.
- If the club has asked who's coming, tick each person under Who's coming? Your own name is already there. Ticking a name when you haven't chosen an answer yet counts as Going, and the button shows how many are coming, such as Going (3).
- If the club asked a question, such as dietary needs, answer it in the box.
- Tap Send your reply.
Nothing reaches the club until you tap Send your reply. Until you've chosen an answer, the button stays grey and says Choose an answer to send your reply.
Once it's sent, the button is replaced by your answer, so you know it's done:
You’re going — 3 people
or You said maybe, or You said you can’t go.
If you try to close the event before sending, the app checks first: Your reply hasn’t been sent. Close now and the club won’t see it. If your reply is ready, the message has its own Send your reply button (or Save your reply if you're changing an answer), so you can send it from there. Close anyway leaves without sending. If your reply isn't ready to send yet, the button reads Finish replying and takes you back.
You can change your answer any time until replies close.
- Change your answer: choose a different one and tap Save your reply. To change who's coming, tick or untick names and save.
- Take your reply back: tap the answer you gave again to clear it. The button becomes Remove your reply. Tap it, and the club sees you as not yet replied rather than a yes that's no longer true.
- After the deadline, the event says Responses closed 3 Oct, 11:59pm. Contact the club if you still need to reply. From then on, changes go through the club.
If there are only a few places left, the event tells you, such as 1 spot left. When it's full, you can still tell the club you can't make it.
Some events have a price, like a presentation dinner or a fundraiser. For those, paying is your reply. There's no separate step to forget after you've bought tickets.
- Tick who's coming and choose a ticket type for each person.
- Check the Total, then tap Continue to payment.
- Pay in the checkout that opens. The price is the same whichever way you pay, like your season fees.
When it's done, the event says You're going, tells you how many places are held in your name, and a receipt comes by email.
Priced events always have a Can't make it? row at the bottom, with Can't go (and Maybe, when the club allows it). Neither costs anything, and each is recorded as soon as you tap it, with no send button. Once you've paid, changing your plans may mean a refund, so contact the club rather than changing it in the app.
Reminders are the club's choice, event by event. Some events have none, and the invitation is the only notification you'll get. The club decides two things separately:
- Whether to remind you before the event, on one or more days ahead, with the event's name as the title.
- Whether to chase anyone who hasn't replied. If it does, and a reply-by date is coming up and you still haven't answered, you'll get one reminder in the 24 hours before replies close: RSVP reminder: Presentation Night, Please respond by Sat 3 Oct. Once you've replied, it won't come.
You can turn club event notifications on or off in Settings, under Notifications, with the Club events switch. It covers invitations, changes and reminders together. Club events in your calendar has the details.
- The event's row in the Calendar shows your answer instead of Reply.
- The event shows You're going, with the number of people if you named more than one.
- The event has gone from the reply card on Home.
