Book a player review

When the club opens review meetings, you pick a time that suits your family on your phone. By the end you’ll have a time booked, know how to move it, and know what reminders to expect.

A review meeting is where the coach sits down with your child to talk through how the block has gone and what comes next. It's the face-to-face half of the development plan: the goals and updates in the app are the ongoing conversation, and the meeting is where the coach and player agree on the next step together.

The club sets up each round of meetings, with the days, the times and the venue. Your part is to pick a time that works for your family, and to turn up having read the plan.

Before you start

  • You don't need to go looking for it. When a round opens for your child's squad, you'll get a notification and the booking appears on your Home screen and in your Calendar.
  • Each child has their own booking. If two of your children are in a round, the Calendar shows one for each.
  • A parent or the player can book on their own login. It's one booking per child, so whoever books, everyone linked to that child sees it.
  • Times are first come, first served. Booking early gets you the pick of the times.

How you'll know a round is open

The invitation arrives as a notification under your child's name. For Milan's mid-season review it read:

Book Milan’s review Mid-season reviews · Mon 12 Oct – Tue 13 Oct · Clubroom, Harbour View SC · tap to pick a time

Tapping it takes you straight to Milan's booking. Until you've booked, the same invitation also sits on your Home screen (for the child you have selected) and at the top of your Calendar (for every child), as Book Milan's review with the programme, the length of the meeting and how many times are left, and a Book button. If your child has a development plan, it appears in the plan's Reviews tab too. It's the same booking wherever you open it.

Book a time

Each day shows how many times are left (1). The earliest free time is marked Soonest available (2).
  1. Tap Book, or tap the notification.
  2. Pick a day (1). Each day shows how many times are left, so you can see at a glance which days are filling up.
  3. Pick a time from the list for that day. The earliest time still free is highlighted and marked Soonest available (2), in case you just want the next one.
  4. Check the details the app reads back to you: when, who and where. Tap Confirm time.
The app reads the booking back before it counts: when, who (1) and where. Nothing is booked until Confirm time (2).

You'll see You're all set! with the day and time, and the booking now shows on your Calendar and in Up Next on Home.

For junior and youth programmes, the meeting is for your child and a parent or guardian, and the details say so (Milan and a parent or guardian). In a senior programme the player books on their own account and attends on their own, so only their name is shown.

If someone takes the time first. Every family is booking from the same list, so now and then a time goes while you're deciding. The app tells you That one just went and offers the closest times still free. Tap one to book it, or tap See all times to go back to the full list.

If there are no times left, the page says No times left. Contact your child's coach if you still need a spot, and check back in case another family frees one up.

Change or cancel your booking

Plans change, and the sooner you move a time, the sooner another family can use it. Open the booking from your Calendar with Manage, and you'll see it marked Booked with two options:

  • Change time shows the list of times again. Your current booking stays in place until you've confirmed the new one with Confirm new time, so you can't lose your place by looking.
  • Cancel booking cancels straight away. There's no second "are you sure?" step, so only tap it when you mean it. You can book again while the round is still open.

Everyone linked to your child gets a notification when a time is changed or cancelled, so a co-parent is never left with the old time.

Once the club closes the round, the booking can't be changed in the app any more. If you try, the app tells you the round is closed, or that your original booking still stands. Talk to the coach directly if something comes up after that.

The reminders

You shouldn't need to remember any of this yourself.

  • When you book, everyone linked to your child gets Review booked with the day, time and venue.
  • The day before, at the same time as the meeting: Milan’s review tomorrow, with the day, time and venue (Mon 12 Oct, 4pm · Clubroom, Harbour View SC).
  • An hour before: Milan’s review soon, with the same details.
  • If you haven't booked as the round draws to a close, you'll get a reminder about two days before the last day you can book, as long as there are still times free. It carries the round's name and booking closes soon — tap to pick a time. The club can also send a reminder of its own.

Make the meeting count

The meeting is short, so the preparation is what makes it useful. Before you go, open your child's development plan together. The Assessment tab shows where your child's view of their game differs from the coach's, and the goals show what this block has been about. Those two things are the agenda. A player who arrives knowing what they want to get better at leaves with a plan built around it.

Confirm it worked

  • The booking shows on your Calendar and in Up Next, and it's gone from the Home screen invitation.
  • Everyone linked to your child has the Review booked notification.
  • Whoever is going has read the plan's current block with your child.
