Sign your player agreement
When the club sends a player agreement, you read it and sign it on your phone. Under-18s sign with a parent or guardian, and a signed copy is emailed to you.
Some places come with a player agreement: a senior contract or a place that carries payments to the player. It's a legal document, so Clubhouse makes sure it is read before it's signed, and that the person signing is who they say they are. Nothing needs printing or scanning, and the whole thing takes a few minutes on a phone.
The examples on this page follow Jake, a senior player whose 2027 contract the club has just sent.
- The agreement goes to the player. If the player is under 18, it goes to their parents and guardians too, because a parent or guardian signs alongside them.
- If you're signing from a text message link, have the phone that holds the mobile number the club has for you. A 6-digit code is sent to it before the offer opens.
- Set aside a few minutes. The app asks you to read the whole agreement before you sign.
The agreement comes attached to Jake's offer for next season, so however you open it, you land on the offer. The offer shows Review & sign the agreement in place of the accept button, because signing is how you accept. The rest of the offer is covered in Accept (or decline) your place.
- In the Clubhouse app. You'll get a notification, Jake’s 2027 contract is ready to sign, and an email whose button reads
Review & sign the contract. Both open the offer. It also waits on your home screen, as See you next season, Jake, until it's signed. - By text message. If you don't use Clubhouse yet, or a notification didn't reach your phone, the club's message comes as a text instead: Hi Jake, Harbourview FC have sent your 2027 player contract to sign, followed by the link. No account is needed. A 6-digit code is texted to the mobile the club has on file, and the offer opens once you enter it, so a forwarded message shows a stranger nothing. Then tap
Review contract & sign.
A contract is only worth something if both sides understood it when they signed, so the app puts the substance first.
It opens on The key terms: the Season, the Term, and where the agreement carries payments, each one with how it was worked out. Where a payment depends on the club entering a competition, the Total underneath is marked guaranteed because it leaves that payment out. The full agreement follows. Where the club has already signed its side, you'll see the club's signatory named with their title and marked Signed.
The button at the bottom reads Read to the end to sign until you reach the end of the document, then becomes Continue to sign.
Under Sign to accept, each signature can be drawn with a finger (Draw, with Clear and Undo if it goes wrong) or typed (Type). Each signer also enters their Full legal name.
For a player under 18, the screen says both the player and a parent or guardian sign. The player signs first, then the parent or guardian fills in Parent or guardian signature and Parent or guardian full legal name. Hand the phone over; it doesn't need to be a second device.
Then tick the box confirming you've read and agree to the terms and understand that signing accepts the place, and tap Sign and accept.
In the app there's no code: you're already signed in. From a text message link, the code comes first, before the offer opens. If it doesn't arrive, tap Send a new code. Where the club also has your email, you can ask for the code by email instead, or back by text. Each new code replaces the last one, so always use the newest message.
The finish screen says Jake’s spot is secured! and confirms his place. A copy of the signed agreement is emailed to the family for your records. That email, Jake's signed contract, carries the agreement as a PDF with every signature on it, and it can land a few minutes after you finish. Keep it. It's the same document the club holds.
If you stop partway, nothing is lost. The offer stays on your home screen until it's signed, and you can pick it up any time. If it's still unsigned as the closing date gets near, you'll get a reminder, Reminder: Jake’s 2027 contract is waiting.
The app shows the agreement; it doesn't negotiate it. If the season, a payment or a name is wrong, don't sign it and hope. Contact the club and they'll send a corrected agreement. Nothing is binding until you've signed.
- The key terms match what you discussed with the club.
- For a player under 18, both the player and a parent or guardian signed.
- The finish screen confirmed the signature, and the signed PDF is in your email.
