Watch live matches and read the ladder
Keep the whole club in view on a Saturday, follow a full round of your competition, and read the ladder and the Club Championship.
On a Saturday you're at your own ground, but the club is playing everywhere. Knowing how the other age groups are going, and where your team sits in the competition, is part of the job: it's the context for your next conversation with the technical director, with a player moving up, or with a parent. Your own match has its own page. This one covers everything around it in Matches.
- Everything here is in
Matches, across four tabs:Fixtures,Results,LadderandLive. - A red dot on
Live(and onMatchesin the navigation) means something at the club is on right now. - To look at another team, use the Grade picker. It lists the club's teams, not just yours.
Add trial game, top right of the page (on a phone, the + at the top of the screen), adds a trial game for your squad. Run match day covers it.
The Live tab is the club's match day in clock order. It's where you find out the under-15s have gone a goal down without messaging anyone.
It reads top to bottom in three parts:
- Live now is every game being played this minute, with the running score and match minute. Every club game in play carries
Watch(1). If it's on camera, the stream plays at the top of the same tab, so you never lose your place. If not, it opens the match page, where the pitch, the clock and the scorers are. - Below it, the games still to come list the rest of the weekend under Today, Tomorrow and then the date, with the kick-off time on each game and a countdown on the next one.
- Last come the games already played this weekend, newest first, starting with Just finished when a game has just ended. A game that's over but hasn't had its score confirmed yet shows Awaiting result.
If the club has a senior side in a Football NSW broadcast competition, the rest of that league's round sits in the same list, marked with the competition's name until it's played. To keep the feed to your own club, turn off the switch at the bottom of the tab. It's named after the competition, for example Show all NPL Men's games, and it only ever hides games between two other clubs.
Invite others to watch (2) shares the club's public live link, for family or friends outside the club. It appears when one of the club's games is live or coming up.
If the tab says No matches scheduled, there's no football on the calendar at all, usually the off-season. Outside that, the tab always looks ahead to the next weekend with fixtures. If it says Live updates are paused, the app has lost its connection and is reconnecting by itself. Pull down to refresh once you have signal again.
Your result only means so much on its own. The round tells you whether a draw away at the leaders was a good point, and how the teams around you went.
- Open
Results, and use Grade to choose the team. - Change View to
Whole competition.
You get every game in that division's round, not just the club's. A game being broadcast right now shows its live score and Watch. A finished game opens the league's match page, where the official scorers appear once Football NSW publishes them.
Whole competition isn't available for JDL, which has no league round in this sense, or for a team the club hasn't linked to its league yet.
The Ladder tab is the competition table for the team in Grade. On a phone it shows the columns that decide a table:
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| P / W / D / L | Played, won, drawn, lost |
| GD | Goal difference |
| Pts | Competition points |
On a wider screen it adds GF and GA (goals for and against), Avg (points per game), Form (the last three results) and Up Next, each team's next fixture.
During a live round the table moves with the scores and says As it stands. That's a provisional table built from the games in progress, and it isn't official until the league publishes the results.
JDL teams have no ladder. The tab says so, because JDL doesn't keep league tables by design.
FNSW ranks clubs, not just teams. The Club Championship combines the club's U14 to U18 ladder results into one standing for the boys' youth teams and one for the girls'. That's where your programme's results add up to the club's reputation.
Choose Club Championship in the Ladder tab's Grade picker. It's offered to boys' and girls' youth teams and to the men's and women's senior teams. A men's team sees the boys' youth championship, and a women's team the girls'.
- You can say how the club's other teams went on Saturday without asking anyone.
- After each round you know your position, your goal difference and who's up next.
- You've looked at the whole round at least once, so the teams around you on the ladder are more than names.
