Quick answer
How do I book my child's player review?
A player review is a short one-on-one meeting between your child and their coach — usually at the end of a training block or mid-season — to talk through how they're tracking and what to work on next. When your club opens a review round for your child's squad, you pick the time that suits your family from the coach's available slots.
Each family books their own slot, so times fill up as everyone chooses. The whole thing takes under a minute. The guide walkthrough is Book a player review.
You don't have to go looking for it. When a review round is open for your child, a prompt appears in two places:
- Your home screen — a banner near the top: "Book Jack's review" with the number of times still available.
- Your calendar — a pinned card at the top of the schedule list, one per child who can book.
Tap either one to open the booking page. If you have more than one child with a review open, you'll get a prompt for each.
The booking page shows the review's length (e.g. 15 min) and location at the top, then:
- Pick a day. Tap one of the day chips — each shows how many times are left that day.
- Pick a time. The list shows every open slot for that day in time order, and the earliest one is tagged Soonest available if you just want the first opening. Tap Book beside the time you want.
- Confirm. A Book this review? sheet reads it back — when, who (your child and a parent or guardian), and where — and Confirm time locks it in: You're all set!
The home banner disappears once you've booked; the booking lives on the Calendar card (…'s review / Manage) until the round closes. Open it and you'll see your booked slot with two options:
- Change time — shows the slot list again. As the banner says, your current booking stays until you confirm — so you never lose your place while shopping for a better one.
- Cancel booking — releases your slot so another family can take it. You can always book again later while the round is still open.
Because every family is booking from the same list, occasionally someone grabs a time a moment before you do. If that happens the confirm sheet says That one just went and offers the closest times right there — or See all times to start over. Nothing is double-booked; the first tap wins.
If every slot has been booked you'll see No times left, with the app's own advice: contact your coach if you still need a spot. Check back later too, in case a family cancels and frees one up.
Once your club closes the review round, bookings are locked — you'll see your booked time but can no longer change or cancel it in the app. If something comes up after that, message the coach.
Clubhouse keeps you across the review without you having to check:
- When bookings open — a push invitation ("Book Jack's review") lands so you know the round is live.
- If you haven't booked yet — one gentle nudge about two days before booking closes, so you don't miss your window. The club can also send a reminder of its own.
- As soon as you book — a "Review booked" confirmation with the day, time and location.
- Before the meeting — a reminder the day before and again about an hour out, with the time and location.
- If your time changes — a confirmation whenever you reschedule or cancel.
Prefer fewer pings? You can mute review reminders under Settings → Notifications without affecting your fixture or training alerts. See Manage your notification preferences.
Once you've booked, the review shows up as a dated item in your Clubhouse calendar on the day — tap it to jump straight back to the booking page. If you've connected Clubhouse to your phone's calendar, the review syncs there as well (under Club events), so it sits alongside your other commitments. Synced calendar entries are read-only — to change the time, open the review in Clubhouse. See Sync your Clubhouse calendar.
If your child has a development plan, an end-of-block review is part of it. When the club schedules that review, it appears in the Reviews tab of your child's plan as well, with the same Book or Manage button, so you can book it right where you're reading their goals. It's the same booking either way; the plan tab is just another place it shows up.
Older players logged in with their own account book exactly the same way — the prompt appears on their home screen and calendar, and the booking page works identically. Senior players attend their review on their own, so the confirm step names just the player rather than a parent or guardian.
