Triage wellness flags
Wellness is your morning check: who has come onto the watch list, who needs a conversation before tonight’s session, and how to stop asking players who shouldn’t be asked.
Daily check-ins on soreness, sleep and fatigue are the earliest warning a squad gives you, and Wellness in your sidebar is where they arrive. The medical team works from exactly the same page, on purpose: a player on the watch list is never sitting in one department's queue while the other assumes it's handled. The physio's version of this walkthrough is Work the wellness watch list; this page is the S&C reading of it.
- Check-ins run for squads with Daily Wellness switched on. If none have it yet, the page reads Wellness check-ins not enabled, and
Open module settingsgoes to the club's module settings, where Daily Wellness is switched on for each programme. - A red count beside Wellness in your sidebar tells you how many players are waiting on the watch list.
- Check-ins. Today's picture: who has checked in, the comments they left, and each player's last 14 days as a grid.
- Watch list. The queue of players who need a look, with a count on the tab.
- Trends. Each squad's check-in rate and wellness direction over Last 14 days, Last 30 days, Last 90 days, or Since first session with its date, to see the whole run of check-ins so far.
When more than one squad runs check-ins, a Team filter narrows the view to one.
Players come onto the watch list after a run of low scores or missed check-ins, like Jack Ashcombe above with three days of low mood. They wait under Pending until someone deals with them, then move to Cleared, which keeps the last 7 days so you can see what's been handled. When the list is empty it says Everyone's doing well, which is the goal.
A player also comes off the list on their own when their scores recover. The queue is for the ones that didn't.
Action & clear is the one decision on this page. Its window, Action & clear player, spells out what it does: it clears every active flag for this player across the clinical list, training, and match day, and their wellness tracking starts again from today, so only a fresh run of low scores or missed check-ins brings them back. The optional Follow-up note is where you record what you did, for example "Spoke with player — added recovery session, monitor over next 48h." Write it. It's what makes next month's identical entry make sense.
Tap a player's name for their last 90 days: check-in rate, anything currently on the watch list, their wellness trend, past entries, and every daily check-in with its comments. This is what turns "three days of poor sleep" into a decision. One bad night before an exam is noise. The fourth in a fortnight, alongside a heavy load week, is a reason to change the session.
A player out for the season doesn't need a daily "how sore are you?", and asking anyway is how the check-in habit fades across a squad. Pause check-ins on the player's view opens Pause wellness check-ins: they won't be asked, and won't appear on the watch list for missing check-ins. Set Paused until for a known return (check-ins restart automatically the day after), or leave it empty to pause with no end date, and add an optional reason such as "ACL — out for the season".
Pausing also clears anything they had on the watch list. Resume brings them back at any time. Nobody is notified either way; the daily prompt simply stops or starts.
You're looking at the same list, with different follow-through. You act on the training side: a lighter session, a conversation before training, a change to their programme. Anything that looks like an injury belongs with the medical team, and because they see the identical list, handing over is a note rather than a process.
Niggles reported after a programme session work the same way on the workouts side: you and the physio are both notified at once. See Build and publish training programmes.
- The watch list gets worked every day, and players are cleared with a note, not left to sit.
- Long-term injured players are paused, not quietly counted as missing.
- Trends get a weekly look. A squad whose check-in rate is sliding is telling you about the habit, not just the players.
