Quick answer
How do I set up and manage S&C testing phases?
Full walkthrough: Run a testing phase in the guide covers this step by step.
Testing phases are the backbone of S&C tracking in Clubhouse. Each phase represents a testing window (e.g. pre-season, mid-season) where you collect physical test results for players.
Phases live under Testing in the S&C sidebar. Two routes:
Option 1: Generate from templates
On a season with no phases yet, the empty state offers Generate phases from templates — Clubhouse creates the season's phases from your season phase templates, each starting with your default test battery and with dates left open until you set them. Phases you already have for the year are left alone.
Option 2: Create manually
- Tap New Phase (or Create a single phase instead from the empty state).
- Step one is the details: Phase Name, Phase Type (Pre-Season, In-Season, Mid-Season, End of Season, Ad-Hoc), Season Year, an optional Test Date, and an optional Expected Month — the approximate month shown to parents if no date is set.
- Step two picks the tests: your default battery is pre-selected, with Select All / Select None to adjust.
- Create Phase.
The Testing list shows every phase for the selected season with its programs, date, test count, player count and a status badge — Scheduled, Partially Complete (results exist but the phase isn't finished) or Completed. Finish a phase from its detail page with Mark Complete; a completed phase offers Reopen Testing if more results need to come in. A Season picker switches years; picking a future year shows a planning banner, and phases created there stay out of the way until that season starts.
Tap a phase to drill in, or from the detail page use Delete phase — deleting a phase that has results makes you type DELETE first, because it cannot be undone.
Inside a phase, results are grouped by age group, with a squad filter, player search and Export CSV. Before any results exist, the page offers three ways in: Live Testing (enter results as you test each player), Manual Entry (from paper records) and Import from Spreadsheet — see entering and importing results.
- Name phases consistently — Use a pattern like "Pre-Season 2026", "Mid-Season 2026" so trends are easy to compare
- Test at consistent intervals — At minimum, pre-season and end-of-season; mid-season adds another trend point
- Include all squads — An age group missing from a phase's results is invisible in squad comparisons
- Complete entry promptly — Enter results soon after testing while the data is fresh
Tip: FNSW's Club Standards value S&C as a supporting tool for player development. Structured testing phases with documented results demonstrate a professional approach.
