Quick answer

How do I use the Matches section as a goalkeeper coach?

The Matches section shows fixtures, results, and ladders for every program in the club. Unlike an outfield coach, who only sees their own squad's matches, you see every match a keeper could play in — across MJDL, BYL, Men's, GJDL, GYL, and Women's.

Viewing fixtures

  1. Tap Matches in the navigation.
  2. Switch programs using the Program filter (for example MJDL, BYL, Men's). The goalkeeping-only "program" is hidden here — only programs that run competitive fixtures appear.
  3. Switch views using the tabs at the top:
    • Fixtures — upcoming matches across the selected program.
    • Results — completed matches with final scores.
    • Ladder — the current competition table.

Tap any match to open its detail page.

Match detail

Match detail gives you the context you need to prepare or review a keeper's performance:

  • Opponent info — club name, recent form, and head-to-head where available.
  • Lineup — the lineup the outfield coach has selected, including the nominated goalkeeper.
  • Result — final score, goals for/against, and key events once the match has been played.
  • Video — the full-match Veo recording (if the match has been uploaded), plus any clips that have been tagged by other coaches.

What you can and can't do here

  • You can edit the lineup, but it isn't yours to edit. The controls are live for you on every squad in the club — the app trusts you rather than locking you out. Selection, subs and formation belong to the squad's own coach, though, so treat the page as read-only in practice and raise a change with them instead of making it yourself. The exception is a keeper nomination you've agreed between you: that's the one you'd reasonably action.
  • The keeper's own analysis page is usually the faster route. For goalkeeper analysis, open the keeper from Goalkeepers — their page indexes every reviewable moment (shots faced, conceded, distribution, set pieces) across their season, without hunting through match pages. Build decks from there or from Presentations. See Analyse goalkeepers on video.

Live matches

The Matches entry in your navigation carries a pulsing dot whenever a club match is live — tap through to follow it. Running the live match (score, subs, events) belongs to the squad's coach, same as the lineup.

Ladders

On the Ladder view, use the Team filter to highlight a specific squad on the table. You can also pick Club Championship to see aggregated results across every squad in the club — useful for spotting trends across age groups.

Tips for GK analysis

  • Use Results to scan which squads had a heavy defensive workload last weekend — those are good candidates to pull clips from in the Presentations section.
  • Open a match detail with the Veo recording linked, then jump straight into the Presentations section to build a focused GK deck from that match's clips.
  • The ladder view with team highlighting helps you spot which squads are conceding the most — those keepers often benefit from extra review sessions.
