Quick answer

Reading the club injury board

Overview

If your club has given you medical access, an Active Injuries item appears in your sidebar — under More at the end of the bottom bar on a phone. It opens the club's live injury board: every player currently carrying an injury, grouped by where they are in their recovery.

It is the same board the club's physiotherapists work from, in your portal, so you don't need a separate admin login to read it. For how this fits the rest of a coach's medical picture — the home widget, the player Medical tab, GRTP confirms and session load — see Read injuries and training load.

What you can see

The board groups injuries by status — awaiting review, active, on a modified return, under long-term management. Filter by programme or status, search for a player, or switch to the table view with the toggle in the filter bar. On a phone the same injuries appear as a grouped list.

Tap any injury to open the full record: what the injury is, when it happened, the expected return dates, and the running history of updates the medical team have added. For a concussion you also see the graduated return-to-play ladder and which step the player is on.

Why you can look but not change anything

Medical access lets you read injury records. You won't see the buttons to log a new injury, change a status, add an update, or flag anything — and dragging a card between columns does nothing.

That isn't the screen being cautious. The club's system refuses those changes for anyone who isn't medical staff, so hiding the buttons only saves you from pressing something that would fail.

The split is deliberate. Knowing who is injured and roughly when they are back is part of planning a session or a team sheet. Deciding a player's status, clearing a concussion, or recording what a physio observed is clinical judgement, and a record several people can edit stops being a reliable clinical record.

If something looks wrong or out of date, tell the club's medical staff — the record you are looking at has the date, the diagnosis and the update history they need to find it.

What's not here

The board is active injuries only. Resolved injuries, wellness check-ins and the triage queue stay with the medical team in their own section. So does logging an injury a player has just told you about — pass that to the medical staff rather than looking for a form here. (If you mark a player injured on a training session roster, Yes, Flag for Physio adds them to the medical team's triage list, but it doesn't notify anyone, so call for anything urgent.)

Two things you can see that surprise people: documents the medical team have attached to an injury appear in your read-only panel, and where a family has reported an injury you can read their report text (the triage buttons are the part you don't get). Treat both with the same care as the rest of the record.

I can't see Active Injuries

It is off by default, and most coaching staff will never have it — injury records name children and include diagnoses, so it is granted sparingly. It's switched on for you specifically, under Additional access on your staff record, by whoever manages staff access at your club.

If it was switched on and you still can't see it, sign out and back in — the access check runs once when the portal loads.

Handle this information carefully

You are reading health information about children. Use it to plan around a player's availability; don't repeat a diagnosis to other parents, other players, or anyone outside the club who doesn't need it.

Families never see this board. They see their own child's injury and the updates the medical team have chosen to share with them, and never another family's.
