Quick answer
How do I manage club communications and notifications?
Clubhouse sends automated notifications to parents, players, and coaches to keep everyone informed about matches, training, and club activity. As an admin, you can configure when and how these notifications are sent.
Clubhouse automatically sends notifications for key events:
- Match reminders — Sent before upcoming matches with time, venue, and opponent details
- Training reminders — Sent before training sessions
- Availability requests — Prompts players/parents to set availability for matches
- Squad selections — Tells Mixed JDL families each week which colour team their child is in
- Match results — Sent after a match is completed
- Development updates — When coaches publish notes, clips, or IDP updates to a player's activity feed
Super admins can adjust timing and toggles for club-wide notifications:
- Go to Settings → Club → Notifications.
- Set the default match and training arrival times and when reminders send, under Clubhouse Event Reminder Defaults. Squad Messaging Defaults and Player Wellness Reminders set the weekly Mixed JDL selection times and the daily check-in times.
- Enable or disable specific notification types for the whole club, then choose Save Changes. A programme can override the timings under Modules & Programs.
Each staff member can configure their own notification preferences:
- Go to Settings → Notifications.
- Toggle which notifications you want to receive.
Common causes include:
- Push notifications disabled on their device — they need to enable notifications for Clubhouse in their phone's settings
- Do Not Disturb mode active on their device
- Personal preferences turned off — check their in-app notification settings
- Not logged in — the app needs an active session to receive push notifications
For detailed troubleshooting, see Why am I not receiving notifications?.
FNSW's Club Standards value comprehensive, proactive communication with parents and players. The Parent Education Seasonal Plan assessment area looks for evidence of:
- Operational, technical, medical, and child protection information shared at the start of the season
- Clear communication about training and match schedules
- Grievance and whistleblowing processes communicated
- Lines of communication for when dialogue is appropriate
- Introduction of the Player Welfare Officer
Use Clubhouse notifications and the parent-facing app as your primary communication channel, supplemented by season-opening workshops and information packs.
