Quick answer
Internal matches
An internal match is filmed training: two groups from one squad in bibs, often swapping sides. It has no lineup, no opponent and no score, so Clubhouse treats it as footage only. You make it from its Veo recording in Presentations, and it never appears as a match anywhere: not in Matches, calendars, the Live tab, Club TV's match day card or anyone's fixtures. Nobody is notified about it.
A game against another club that the league doesn't run is a trial game instead: see Trial games.
Internal matches start from the footage, so there's nothing to set up before the session.
- Once Veo has synced the recording, go to Presentations and choose New Presentation.
- Choose Internal match at the top.
- Pick the Squad, then the recording from that squad's Veo. Every recording not yet linked to a match is listed, newest first, with when it was filmed, how long it runs and how many clips it has.
- Choose Create deck. The deck opens, titled Internal match, ready for clips.
Internal match appears for the squads whose lineup you can set: coaches see their own squads, and technical directors and video analysts see the squads they cover. It isn't offered in the goalkeeping video builder.
The deck lives in Presentations like any other, listed as Internal match with the date it was filmed. Clips sync into it the same way, and you can present it in the dressing room or on Club TV.
An internal match has no lineup or stats, only its footage, so nothing from it reaches season totals, game time or a player's match history.
Picked the wrong recording? Delete the deck. Because the internal match exists only for its footage, deleting the deck removes the internal match too, along with any other session made from the same recording, and the recording goes back on the list in New Presentation.
Where did Add a match → Internal match go? Internal matches are made from their recording in Presentations now, because footage is all they are. Internal matches added the old way are no longer listed as matches; their decks are still in Presentations.
Why isn't my recording in the Internal match list? Only recordings from the squad's own Veo team that aren't already linked to a match are listed, so there are three reasons a recording can be missing:
- Veo hasn't synced it yet. The list reads No unlinked recordings from this squad's Veo yet. Syncs run every 20 minutes Saturday to Monday and hourly otherwise.
- The squad has no Veo team mapped. The list says so by name, for example Aus Championship has no Veo team mapped yet., and lists the club's unmapped Veo teams with footage from the last 60 days. If you can map teams, choose Use this team beside the right one, then Map, and the recordings appear straight away. Otherwise ask whoever manages your club's Veo to map it in Settings → Integrations → Veo → Teams. Clubhouse maps most teams on its own at the next sync, using the year, age group and programme in the team's Veo name, and leaves the rest for a person rather than guess.
- It's linked to the wrong match. Unlink it from that match's Video tab first.
Why can't a parent see our internal match? Nobody sees an internal match as a match, staff included. It's footage for a presentation. Add it as a trial game if families need to know about it.
